Transport application

The entire economic, social and political life of a modern country depends on an efficient transportation system. Stainless steel plays an important role in organizing the movement of people and goods.

Industrial application

This section explores the applications of stainless steel in the mining and quarrying, chemical and petrochemical industries, power generation, electrical engineering, and food and beverage industries.

Architectural, building and construction applications

The architectural possibilities of stainless steel were recognized within a few years of their discovery in the early 20th century. Highly visible evidence can be found in famous structures such as the roof of the Chrysler Building in New York and the canopy of the Savoy Hotel in London. For a while, the relatively high cost and limited availability of constrained materials were applied to this type of "flagship" construction, with cost being a secondary consideration.

Home and Office Use

Once considered a very expensive material for everyday items in the home and office, stainless steel has become a very popular and affordable material in recent years. As the cost of stainless steel has gradually decreased over the years relative to the cost of competing materials, designers and manufacturers have used its attractive properties to provide us all with countless functional products for indoor and outdoor use.

Many artists have sculptures made of stainless steel because the material has many advantages.
